Likkutei Amarim, Middle of Chapter 26.
Daily Tanya Teachings by Sarede Switzer in loving memory of Avraham Yitzchok ben Binyamin HaKohen Z"L. Intro and outro music by Shoshannah.
In today’s episode we discuss why asking G-d to forgive us 3x per day in the Shmonei Esrei prayer (in the blessing Shlach Lanu) does not mean that we sin and have in mind that we’ll repent later (which is not allowed). And we also discuss why it is essential for us to assert our willingness to sacrifice our lives for G-d every day even if we won’t practically be faced with such a test in actuality.
Likkutei Amarim, End of Chapter 25.
In today’s episode we discuss how the fact that a Jew is willing to sacrifice their life rather than renounce G-d’s unity in an overt way, should motivate a person to not want to ever do even the smallest thing which is against the will of G-d, as even the most minor transgression separates a person from G-d’s Unity. And the pain of withstanding temptation is surely easier and less painful to endure than the pain of death which a Jew would willingly suffer rather than renounce G-d’s Unity overtly.
